‘Domestic Divas’ to Air Next Tuesday
29 Aug 2014 : Deirdre Molumby
A new six-part series called ‘Domestic Divas’ sees Aisli Madden and Cat Lawlor on a mission to help the helpless, to demonstrate basic life skills that came naturally to our parent’s generation and not so easily to those in their 20s and 30s. The first episode of the series airs on RTÉ One next Tuesday.

Many of those who grew up through the Celtic Tiger years have side-stepped basic life skills such as cooking, mending, sewing and cleaning, instead having takeaway dinners, bringing the washing home once a week and throwing out things that aren’t as new as the moment we bought it.

Aisli and Cat will share the knowledge, skills and power to live life better – to eat more healthily, deliciously and nutritiously, to care for a home like a boss, and to take pride in oneself, inside and out.

During the series, Aisli & Cat will help a single mother who desperately wants to throw a 1st birthday to remember for her special little boy. They’ll meet a social butterfly who has no time to cook or clean but wants to stop relying on his flatmate to do all of the housework. They’ll come up with healthy, nutritious and easy ways for a busy working mother of 2 to feed her family with fresh ingredients straight from her Diva-built pop-up garden. The Divas will do this and much more.

The series is a Mind the Gap production produced by Bernadine Carraher, directed by Graeme Wells and edited in Screen Scene by Ciara Brophy.

‘Domestic Divas’ premieres on RTÉ One on Tuesday 2nd September at 8.30pm. The series is a part of RTÉ's new season of programming.
