TV3 has sold two seasons of ‘Tallafornia’ to the UK’s Channel 5.

The TV network signed a deal with UK broadcaster Channel 5 which will see the reality show air on the British channel.

Tallafornia is the 23rd show from TV3 Studios to be acquired for an international market in the last two years. Created by Dara Tallon and Fintan Maguire (previously the Commissioning Editor at TV3 now at Crackit Productions), the independently produced show was launched in December 2011.

Tallafornia stars Kelly Donegan, Nikita Murray, Cormac “The Corminator” Brannigan and co look set to become a hit in the UK.

TV3 are also currently in discussions, as reported by IFTN, with a number of shortlisted production companies in relation to a proposed new drama serial, planned for 2015.

Other shows that have sold and continue to sell well internationally include ‘Animal A&E’, ‘24 Hours to Kill’, ‘Temple Street Children’s Hospital’, as well as various traveller programmes which were also acquired by Channel 5.

Jeff Ford, who took over from Ben Frow as Director of Content at TV3, said: “Channel 5’s acquisition of ‘Tallafornia’ is another example of TV3’s ability to export quality home-produced series’ that appeal to not just a local audience in Ireland but to a broader audience internationally.”
