‘The Science Squad’ returns to RTÉ One for a second series starting this Friday 6th September 2013.
Presenters Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin, Kathriona Devereux and Jonathan McCrea have all returned for the new season, which will investigate important Irish developments in medical science that could lead to treatments for life-threatening conditions.
This year the team will meet the scientists who are sending their next research project to the International Space Station and will take a look into the controversial world of genetic testing.
Travelling the country, the presenters will also talk to some of the people whose lives have already been directly affected by the latest medical developments.
This year ‘the Science Squad’ will introduce a new segment featuring UCC Environmental Scientist Fergus McAuliffe, who will discuss some of the more unlikely stories from the world of science - including the wood frog that ‘freezes to live’ and the willow trees that are being used as wastewater treatment systems.
The show is produced by New Decade TV & Film Ltd and returns to RTÉ One on Friday 6th September 2013 at 7.30pm for seven episodes.
