RTÉ is currently commissioning new Irish language programming for TG4 and English factual programming for RTÉ 2 - before the submissions deadline next week of 30th August.
In highlighting recent examples of successful Irish language content, Executive Producer Kevin Cummins cited ‘Bernard Dunne’s Bród Club’, ‘Aerfort’, ‘Scannal’, ‘Réabhlóid’, ‘Cloch Le Carn’, ‘Oileán’, ‘Abhainn’, ‘Mamó’ and ‘An Cór’.
The following is a brief breakdown of the different categories being sought:
Cláracha Gaeilge - Entertainment Series
Series consisting of 26 hour-long episodes are wanted, with a maximum budget of €32,000 per hour (Total €832,000).
RTÉ is seeking proposals for a pre-recorded studio-based entertainment series in the Irish language, for prime time broadcast on TG4 in 2014.
Recent series to feature in these slots include 'An Jig Gig', 'Talann Na Tíre', 'Feis And Blood' and 'Scór Encore'.
Cláracha Gaeilge - Young Peoples Series
Series consisting of 66 half-hour episodes are sought, with a maximum budget of €7,500 per hour (total €247,500).
RTÉ is seeking proposals for a studio-based Young People's interactive series, which should be lively, energetic and produced in The Irish language for broadcast on TG4 in 2014.
A recent series that succeeded in this slot was 'Bog Stop', an internationally-formatted strand.

RTÉ Daytime & Lifestyle
Commissioning Editor Grainne McAleer and Assistant Commissioning Editor Sean MacGiolla Phadraig are looking for new hour-long factual entertainment formats for RTÉ Two.
Programmes that have succeeded within this area recently are ‘Don't Tell the Bride’, ‘ICA Bootcamp’ and ‘The Takeover’.
These factual entertainment formats should appeal to a younger demographic, particularly for 15- 35 year-olds, ideally for the Thursday night schedule.
Six 52 minute episode are wanted, with a budget of €75 - 85k per hour.
