Animators are offered a final chance to book places in the National Film School’s Animation Academy, running from next Monday 15th to 19th July - which will be hosted by ‘Game of Thrones’ VFX house Screen Scene.
The course, entitled ‘Post Production and Visual FX Workflows for Animation’, will give animation students and recent graduates the chance to gain experience in the post-production processes for animation - with a special focus on visual FX, including Nuke, the node-based digital compositing software.
The Facility house, Screen Scene, will host participants where they will spend three days learning about the workings of the main departments for editing (picture and audio) and Sound & Visual FX, including half a day at Ardmore Sound in Bray.
This will be complemented by two intensive days in IADT, learning the basics of the Nuke software.
Screen Scene, headed by VFX Supervisor Ed Bruce, counts among its recent credits the animation and special effects for ‘Game of Thrones’; ‘Ripper Street’; ‘Last Days on Mars’; and ‘Albert Nobbs’.
Further details and application forms are available by contacting Adult and Continuing Education at IADT at (01) 239 4631 (ptc@iadt.ie) or by emailing: keith.foran@iadt.ie
The NFS Animation Academy is supported by the Irish Film Board.
