‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Love/Hate’ star Aiden Gillen stars in Ciaran Creagh’s directorial debut ‘The Note’, a short film which will receive its premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh in the Town Hall theatre on Saturday 13th July.
‘The Note’ also stars Ruth McCabe (‘The Snapper’) with other crew members including Director of Photography Owen McPolin (‘Mr. Selfridge’), editor Dermot Diskin (‘Love/Hate’) and composer Denis Clohessy (‘His & Hers’).
The plot follows a middle-aged alcoholic named Lars, who has lost his wife and child through his addiction, and carries around a note as a constant reminder of the sexual abuse he suffered as a child at the hands of a Christian Brother.
A Fail Safe Films production, ‘The Note’ was produced by Simon Doyle and post production was carried out at Windmill Lane.
Mr Creagh, who also wrote the screenplay, is best known as the writer of ‘Parked’ featuring Colm Meaney, which was nominated for four IFTA awards in 2011 - for Colm Meaney as Best Actor; Guy Montgomery for Best Editing; Louise Myler for Best Make Up & Hair; and Niall Byrne for Best Original Score.
It also won Best First Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh that same year.
