Former ‘Celtic Warrior’ and Irish boxing champion Steve Collins will return to the public eye to star in new low-budget crime thriller ‘The Street’, which starts filming in Galway this September.

No stranger to the big screen, Mr Collins' most high-profile appearance to date was in Guy Ritchie’s ‘Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels’ in which he played a boxing gym bouncer.

He also recently acted in short movie ‘Tax City’, written by Andy Nolan and directed by Tom Begley, in which Collins plays a man who brutally assaults a rock star.

Distributed by the London-based Metrodome Group, ‘The Street’ tells the story of criminal Simon Carr who is released after five years in prison for killing someone and attempts to start his life all over again.

Returning to his home town of Galway, Simon accepts a job working with his cousin but before long his past begins to catch up with him.

When he discovers his younger brother Declan has become involved in robberies and pushing cocaine, Simon tries to rescue him but ends up coming into conflict with an old enemy bent on revenge.

Casting is now underway on ‘The Street’ with a three week shoot planned for September and a 2014 release date.
