Irish romantic comedy ‘Love, Rosie’ – based on Cecelia Ahern’s 2004 novel ‘Where Rainbows End’ – will start shooting in Dublin from May to July, with extras wanted aged 17-25 years and older.
Directed by Christian Ditter, the film will star Lily Collins and Sam Cleflin in the main roles of two Irish best friends Rosie and Alex, whose plans to go to college together in the US get complicated by Rosie's unexpected pregnancy.
Although Alex is not the child’s father, the pair stay in touch over the next 12 years by letters and emails as their lives change and destinies unfold.
Lily Collins and Sam Cleflin both appeared in two recent but different Snow White adaptations - ‘Mirror, Mirror’ and ‘Snow White and The Huntsman’ respectively.
Produced by Octagon Films, Canyon Creek Films and Germany’s Constantin Film Produktion, ‘Love, Rosie’ marks the second big-screen adaptation of a Cecelia Ahern novel following the success of 2007’s ‘P.S. I Love You.’
Lily Collins will appear in another literary adaptation later this year ‘The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones’ while Sam Cleflin will play the character of Finnick Odair in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ released on 22 November.
Other ‘Love, Rosie’ cast members include Tamsin Egerton (Guinevere in Octagon’s ‘Camelot’), Suki Waterhouse (Pusher), Jaime Winstone (Made in Dagenham) and Lily Laight (Les Misérables).
‘Love, Rosie’ is produced by Simon Brooks, James Flynn, Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz, based on a screenplay by Juliette Towhidi (Calendar Girls), with casting by Gail Stevens and costume designer by Leonie Pendergast.
Cecelia Ahern is represented by the Marianne Gunn O’Connor Creative Agency.
Open casting for film extras will take place this Thursday 2nd May at Filmbase, Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, from 11:30am-5pm.
