Irish Film New York (IFNY) to Launch Producer’s Group at Irish Consulate this Monday 22 April

Niall McKay, Curator of IFNY
Irish Film New York (IFNY) will host a special evening dedicated to celebrating contemporary Irish filmmaking at the Irish Consulate in New York this Monday 22 April, as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

A highlight will be the launch of the IFNY Producers Group - a networking resource organisation dedicated to connecting Irish professionals working in TV, film and media.

Niall McKay - Emmy award-winning producer/director and curator of IFNY-expressed his enthusiasm for this special event.

‘Continuing on our previous year’s success, we are excited to showcase such stellar Irish film talent showing at the Tribeca Film Festival. Each year we are encouraged and excited by the exceptional talent of Irish people who come to New York to work in this field,’ he said.

Co-hosted by the Irish Consulate and the Irish Film Board, the evening will celebrate the Irish films featured at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival including Neil Jordan’s ‘Byzantium’, Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘What Richard Did’ and Marina de Van’s 'Dark Touch'.

Established in 2010, IFNY is committed to bringing the best of contemporary Irish cinema to New York audiences, by connecting producers and directors; hosting film screenings; holding Q&A sessions with filmmakers; and helping Irish filmmakers find markets for their films in the US.
