The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland is hosting a panel discussion entitled ‘The Storytellers’ this 25th April at the Marriott Hotel, Swansea, as part of this year’s Celtic Media Festival.
Chaired by Ewan Angus, the panel will examine how programmes like ‘The Killing’, ‘Borgen’, ‘Lillihammer’ and ‘Corp+Anam’ have crossed the language barrier to become hugely successful shows all over the world.
This topic of analysis will be whether storytelling transcends language and are there countries that do it better than others?
The members of the panel will include Birger Larsen (Director of The Killing, Murder); Darach Mac Con Iomaire (Writer and Director of Corp+Anam); Gethin Scourfield (Producer of Hinterland); Tone Rønning (Commissioning Editor NRK and Executive Producer of Lilyhammer).
The BAI event will take place from 11:45am-1pm at the Marriott Hotel, Swansea on 25th April.
The Celtic Media Festival is an annual three-day celebration of broadcasting, film talent and excellence from Scotland, Isle of Man, Ireland, Cornwall, Wales and Brittany.
For the last 33 years, Celtic Media Festival's aim has been to promote the languages and cultures of the Celtic countries on screen and in broadcasting.
