Three more Irish filmmakers have been chosen to attend events at this year’s Berlinale Co-Production Markets.
Director Cathal Ó Cuaig from Rúnda Films, and producers Claire Nolan from Subotica and Sean Cuthbert from TooOldTooUgly Productions have been selected for the.
The Talent Campus is a creative academy and networking platform for 300 up-and-coming filmmakers from all over the world. The Irish attendees will have the opportunity to exchange thoughts with established industry experts during the event, which takes place from February 9-14.
Ó Cuaig, a former writer with Galway-based production company Sónta, works in both fiction and documentary. His credits include documentary series ‘Che’ (2007), 2008’s ‘Home in India’ (2008), and his directorial debut, short film ‘An Cluiche’ (2012).
Nolan, a producer with Subotica in Dublin, which currently has feature film ‘Gold’ in production in Dublin, is a recent graduate of the National Film School at IADT. Her credits include short films ‘Golgotha’ and ‘ESC’, both of which were officially selected at the Galway Film Fleadh.
Cuthbert, a producer with TooOldTooUgly Productions, has worked in a number of different crew positions on projects like ‘Savage’ and ‘Where the Sea Used to Be’, which he was a producer on. The film went on to win Best Feature Film at the Fingal Film Festival.
The three filmmakers join fellow Irish attendees Jacqueline Kerrin and Dominic Wright from Ripple World Pictures, who have been selected to attend the co-production market with their project ‘The Valentine Gang’, and Black Sheep Productions’ ‘Scumbot’, also selected for the co-production market.
Rebecca Daly and Fastnet Films’ ‘Mammal’ has also been chosen as a Berlinale Residency project.
