The feature film ‘Noble’ begins production in Vietnam
The feature film ‘Noble’ begins production in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on the 10th January 2013 and it will shoot there for four weeks before moving to Liverpool in the UK until the 8th of March.
Written and directed by Stephen Bradley (‘Sweety Barrett') and starring Deirdre O’Kane (’Intermission’, ‘Moone Boy’), the film tells the extraordinary true story of Christina Noble, a funny, feisty and courageous woman who overcomes her own harsh childhood in Ireland to find her destiny helping over 700,000 street children and their families on the other side of the world.
Christina founded the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation and it is dedicated to serving underprivileged children with the hope of helping each child maximise their life potential. Christina has programmes in Vietnam and Mongolia dedicated to making sure children have access to basic care and educational opportunities.
Co-starring are Brendan Coyle (‘The Raven’, ‘Downton Abbey’), Liam Cunningham (’Safe House’, ’Game of Thrones’), Ruth Negga (‘Twelve Years a Slave’, ‘Shirley’), Nhu Quynh Nguyen (‘Pearls of the Far East’,’ Indochine’) and Sarah Greene (‘The Guard’, ‘Love and Savagery’).
The film’s producers are Melanie Gore-Grimes and Stephen Bradley, with Michael J. Hunt as executive producer. It is being made by Destiny Films for UK equity investment company Ansty Productions. The local Vietnamese production partner is Star Films Asia.
Nick Laws (production manager on ‘War Horse’, ‘Blood Diamond’, ‘Constant Gardener’) serves as line producer. The director of photography is Trevor Forrest, winner of the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival award for Best Cinematographer (‘Una Noche’,‘Grabbers’). Other key department heads include, production designer Cristina Casali (‘In the Loop’, ‘Red Riding’), costume designer Charlotte Walter (‘A Mighty Heart’, BAFTA winner for ‘Birdsong’), chief hair and make-up Marese Langanv (‘The Boy in Striped Pyjamas’, BAFTA winner for ‘The Iron Lady’) and sound recordist Tim Fraser (‘Captain Phillips’, ‘Vera Drake’).
Post-production will take place in London, for delivery in August 2013. The editor is Mags Arnold (‘The Killer Inside Me’, ‘The Trip’) and sound design will be by Alastair Sirkett (‘Mamma Mia’, ‘The Hitch-hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’).
