‘Try For Free’ Workshops At Gaiety School of Acting
19 Dec 2012 :
The complimentary sessions begin on January 3
The Gaiety School of Acting is hosting a series of ‘Try For Free’ hour long workshops for adults this coming January.

The school will present ‘Introduction to Drama’, ‘Acting for Camera’, ‘TV Presentation’ and ‘Dramatic Writing’ classes, starting from January 3.

‘Introduction to Drama’ aims to give students a practical, enjoyable and confidence-building introduction to the craft of acting and improvising. ‘Acting for Camera’ is designed to provide students with the skills for screen acting for all formats, from independent films to commercials to the big screen.

‘TV Presentation’ is a new course aimed at individuals interested in working in the media, with television producer and director Bill Hughes teaching. ‘Dramatic Writing’ is suitable for those new to dramatic writing who are looking to explore contemporary playwriting on both the page and in performance. Award-winning playwright and theatre maker Michelle Read will guide the students.

As well as these ‘Try For Free’ offers, the Gaiety also offers complimentary taster sessions to prospective students at the start of each new term, so they can get a taste of what the whole term brings.

Patrick Sutton, director of the Gaiety School of Acting, says: “These free taster classes are a wonderful way of introducing people to the world of drama. Acting is not just about performing, it is about acquiring skills that enhance self perception, encourage individuals to think creatively and overall improve your confidence.”
