Jackie Ryan has been appointed interim general manager of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.
Ryan will succeed Joanne O’Hagan, who served as CEO of the festival since 2007. Ryan will be tasked with delivering the 2013 JDIFF, which is taking place in February next year.
Ryan is a former CEO of Graphic Studio Dublin, and also held posts at the TEAM Educational Theatre and the Draíocht Arts Centre where she was general manager at both organisations, and the National Gallery of Ireland where she was education officer.
Arthur Lappin, chair of the board of directors at JDIFF, welcomed Ryan to the JDIFF team: “Jackie’s management roles in several arts organisations make her an ideal choice for this position. As we welcome Jackie we must, with regret, say goodbye to Joanne O’Hagan who as our CEO for the past five years has been extraordinarily effective in her work and leaves behind her a legacy of enduring value to the festival.”
Commenting on the appointment, Ryan said: “I am delighted to be joining Gráinne Humphreys and the team of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival. The festival has grown substantially since its founding by the late Michael Dwyer, and I relish the opportunity to help showcase the best of Irish and international film in Dublin, with the support of title sponsor Jameson.”
The festival programme for the 2013 festival will be announced in January 2013.
