Sony is to showcase its Believe Beyond HD vision at this September’s International Broadcasting Conference (IBC), the annual get-together for the electronic media and entertainment industry.

The electronics giant first launched its Sony’s Believe Beyond HD Vision at the 2011 NAB Show, and built upon at this year’s conference in April.

At IBC 2012, Sony will show how its products are helping European customers to take the lead in the content creation and distribution markets.

From developing the industry’s first complete 4K workflow, to solutions such as the Optical Disc Archive system or 3D, Sony will aim to show how it is using its technological power to serve the individual needs of its customers.

IBC will also be a platform for Sony to show off some of the technology it has provided to the sports industry. These include successful 3D productions over the last month at world famous sporting events such as the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and Goodwood Festival of Speed.

In addition, Hawk-Eye, the Sony-backed technology solution, was also qualified by soccer governing body FIFA to licence its goal-line technology.

Olivier Bovis, Head of AV Media, Sony Europe, said: “IBC 2012 is an important opportunity to meet many of our customers and show them how our innovative solutions can help meet their business needs. By working in close collaboration with partners and customers and listening to their feedback, we are uniquely placed to develop entirely new technology platforms where necessary for the industry.”

The IBC conference will be held between September 6-11, and the IBC exhibition will be held from September 7-11. Sony will be exhibiting at IBC 2012 in Hall 12, stand number 12.A10. For more information, the Sony IBC 2012 website will go live at the end of August on www.pro.sony.eu/ibc.
