The 30 Minute Film Festival is set to return to the Galway Film Fleadh next month following its success as last year’s event.
Sponsored by the Galway Film Centre and Solid Media, the event allows filmmakers and enthusiasts to make a one minute HD film, which can be uploaded onto YouTube. Thirty of these one-minute films will then be selected by a panel of judges and screened at a special public event on July 15 at the Galway Film Fleadh. Entry to this competition is free.
A Judges Award and an Audience Award will be handed out following the screening with Fleadh organizers set to announce the prizes shortly. The winning films will also be available to watch online following the Fleadh.
Last year’s winners at the 30 Minute Film Festival were ‘Lilou’, by Ruth Meehan and ‘Got your Nose’, by Keith White. All genres are welcome including documentary. Animation is also welcome.
Those interested in applying can enter through http://www.solidmedia.ie/30/ and follow the instructions. More information is available from Mary Deely at education@galwayfilmcentre.ie or Shane Lyons at info@solidmedia.ie
The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday July 4.
