Dublin post-house Yard is putting the finishing touches to Olympic documentary ‘London Calling’ for its June 19 air date.

The six-part documentary series charts the journey of 13 Irish Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls as they try to qualify for the 2012 Games. The series features athletes across a range of events including boxing, three day eventing, triathlon, sprinting, discus, race walking and long distance running. 'London Calling' captures the hardship these athletes undergo in both their professional and personal lives. Filming took place across Ireland as well as in the UK, the US, Switzerland, Russia, Slovakia and more.

'London Calling' has been produced by Dublin-based Strike Films for RTÉ Sport and was shot, edited and directed by Darragh Bambrick. Picture post production is being carried out at Yard with the sound mix at Avatar Audio Post Production. The executive producer for RTÉ is Paula Fahy, while the series is narrated by RTÉ presenter Daire O’Brien.

Former Olympic boxer and medal-winner Kenneth Egan will feature in episode two of the series on June 26.

Post-production will be completed in the coming days, and the first half-hour episode will air on RTÉ One on Tuesday, June 19, at 10.35pm.
