The deadline for the Galway Film Fleadh Pitching Award has been extended to Wednesday June 20.
The Pitching Award is a live event where five short-listed applicants pitch their idea for a film to a panel of industry experts. The winner receives €3,000 to enable him/her to further develop their script and enhance their writing skills. The Galway Film Fleadh will take place over July 10-15.
The prize will give the winner time to develop and expand their pitch into a full feature film script. For those selected, it is an opportunity to communicate their story and win support for their idea.
To apply, submit a 500-word story idea for screen which will be read by a designated industry panel. The best five will be shortlisted and invited to present their pitch to a panel of judges. This will take place in front of an audience at the Fleadh on Sunday July 15.
Last year’s winner, Rioghnach Ní Ghrioghair, said her win for ‘Death Rattle’ “has given me a huge confidence boost” . Her project has since gone one to win a major prize at ENGAGE 2011 in Helsinki.
