The Waterford Film Festival 2012 is now officially open for entries for submissions for films and screenplays. This year’s festival will take place from November 9-11 at the Greyfriars Art Gallery.
The short screenplay competition submission deadline is Friday June 29. Late submissions for this will be accepted until Monday July 16. The short film submission deadline is Monday 16. Late applications will be accepted until Friday August 3.
Now in its sixth year, the festival will once again exclusively focus on promoting short films and screenplays, especially those which are independently produced.
The Waterford City Council Award for Best Short Film is open to both fictional and documentary-based films. The Best Screenplay Award will be open to all screenplays for un-filmed short films.
The festival is funded by Waterford City Council, and saw the likes of Eilis Mernagh (Tiger) and Cathal Nally (The Retreat) shortlisted for awards last year. Barry Grant won the Best Short Screenplay Award for ‘Shrinking Woody Allen’ in 2011.
