Keys To The City
Irish feature film ‘Keys to the City’ has wrapped filming in Dublin and is preparing for post production. The 90-minute recession-based drama was crewed by a group of Digital Feature Film masters students in conjunction with Filmbase and Staffordshire University (UK).

Laura Way, Chris Brennan and Mel Cannon all directed the shoot, and James Fair (The Ballad of Des & Mo), Conor Horgan (One Hundred Mornings) and IFTA award-winner Conor McDermottroe (Swan Song – Story of Occi Byrne) wrote the script. Peter Bodie co-produced with Trisha Flood, while Frank Reid (Between the Canals) is set to edit the feature in post production. Filmbase will supervise the overall production.

‘Keys to the City’ was shot in various locations around Dublin over three weeks. It is set in recession-hit Ireland, showing the impact the current economic climate can have on people.

It stars Conor Mullen (Rough Diamond), Rory Keenan (The Guard) and Úna Kavanagh (Garage).

The Masters students funded the project through public funding website Fund it, and exceeded their €3,000 aim. They plan to submit the feature to the Galway Film Fleadh which is held between 10-15 July 2012.
