The application deadline for the annual Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Awards 2012 is Friday, 30th March at 5pm.
Filmbase have teamed up with RTÉ again to offer four script writers the chance to win funding and facilities worth up to €20,000 from the Filmbase/RTÉ Short Film Award scheme. The successful applicants will receive €10,000 towards the production of their film, a further €10,000 worth of facilities and equipment, and support from industry professionals along the way. RTÉ will broadcast the winning entries on its television network and online.
Applicants are asked to submit one short film script before the deadline this Friday. Selected finalist projects will be shortlist for interview. The scheme is open to applications from all genres of film, and scripts must be between 8 and 15 minutes long.
Previous winner ‘Cured’, a short film depicting a butcher’s struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder written by Louise Ní Fhiannachta, will be shown on RTÉ Two tonight (Monday 26th March) at 23.25pm. For more information about entry guidelines, visit www.filmbase.ie.
