The first European Film Academy Young Audience Award is up for grabs this year and the EFA is calling for entries from European filmmakers.
On Young European Audience Film Day on 10 June, three films will be screened to a young audience (10 – 13 year-olds) in Amsterdam, Belgrade, Copenhagen, Erfurt, Stockholm and Turin. The nominations will be determined by a committee of directors of children film festivals. And it is the young audience in the six cities that will act as a jury and vote for the winner right after the screenings. The presentation of the award will take place on the same day in Erfurt, Germany.
Eligible for this newly introduced award are European feature-length fiction, animation and documentary films intended for children between 10 and 13 years. The films must have had their first official screening (be it at a festival or at a regular cinema) after 1 March 2011.
Submission deadline is 15 March 2012. Queries or questions should be directed at Maria von Hörsten at +49 30 887 16 70 or mvhoersten@europeanfilmacademy.org
