In collaboration with the University College Dublin, Imagine Science Films will jointly program the first dedicated science film festival to be held in Dublin, Ireland — July 2012.
The festival is described as a “national exploration of science through film and digital media” and organiserse are seeking short and feature length films that demonstrate how science impacts our lives and how scientists think and work.
A spokeswoman for the festival said they are looking for "films that weave elements of real science into a fictional narrative. Diversity is just as important in biology as it is in our selection of films. Although documentaries are welcome, we encourage dramas, comedies, mysteries and art house films that touch base with a scientific fact or theory."
Awards will be presented in the Scientific Merit Award, People’s Choice, Scientist Award and Visual Science.
