Irish presenter and stylist Darren Kennedy (Operation Transformation, Project Parent) is to present a new travel show for the UK’s Channel 5 called ‘Holiday Heaven on Earth’.
The 10x30 minute series is a Blink Films production who are known for documentaries like ‘Mummifying Alan; The Egyptian’s Last Secret’ for Channel 4 and More4’s ‘Miliband of Brothers’. The show sees Kennedy and co-host Emma Wilson (Angela & Friends, The Oprah Winfrey Show) giving viewers access to some of the world’s best travel experiences whilst keeping the budget conscious in mind. There will also be celebrity guest presenters including Rav Wilding, Emma Crosby, Jeff Brazier, Lisa Butcher, Joe Swash and Jenny Frost.
Each episode will explore three different locations. The series will see Darren travel to locations like Hong Kong, Macau, San Diego and The Hague. The series was filmed from October last year and will finish filming in March.
Executive producer for the project was Blink co-founder Dan Chambers (True Stories, Chinese Food in Minutes). It was produced by Caroline Blackadder (A Place In The Sun, Celebrity Cash In The Attic). Tina D’Arcy (The Worst Journey In The World, Blackadder Rides Again) was the production manager on the project. It was shot on Canon XF 305 cameras at 1080/25p. It is currently posting at Splice with edit producer Bill Pegram (Cash In The Celebrity Attic) and editors Richard Francis (The Only Way is Essex, Cash In The Attic) and Andy Horlock(Three Men In A Boat Compilation, Britian's First Photo Album).
The show goes to broadcast on Channel 5 from Thursday 2nd February 2012 at 7pm.
