‘This Must Be The Place’, an Italian, Irish and French co-produced feature length film starring Oscar winning actor Sean Penn (Milk, Mystic River) has been selected for the Spotlight section of Sundance 2012
The film, which was directed by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino and filmed in Dublin in August 2010, follows Cheyenne played by Penn, a wealthy former rock star living in Dublin who embarks on a quest to find his father's persecutor, a Nazi war criminal hiding out in the US.
‘This Must Be The Place’ was Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's English language feature debut. It also stars a host of Irish talent including Simon Delaney (Zonad, Happy Ever Afters), Olwen Fouere (The Other Side of Sleep, Space Truckers) and Eve Hewson (For The First Time, The 27 Club).
The film was co-produced by Irish producers Ed Guiney (The Guard, All Good Children) and Andrew Lowe (The Guard, Single-Handed) of Element Picutres, Indigo Film and Lucky Red, Italy also produced.
The Spotlight section of the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 also includes Irish film ‘The Grabbers’.
