Director John Michael Mc Donagh’s ‘The Guard’, the most successful independent Irish film of all time, taking over €4 million when it hit the Irish box office, comes out on DVD today.

‘The Guard’ tells the story of a small town unorthodox Irish policeman Sergeant Gerry Boyle played by Brendan Gleeson (Albert Nobbs, Troy) who is teamed up with an uptight FBI agent Wendell Everett played Don Cheadle (Hotel Rwanda) to investigate an international drug-smuggling ring operating through the West Coast of Ireland.
