Robert Sheehan (Love/Hate, Misfits) is to appear as part of the cast of the second series of ‘Accused’. The four part series will focus on different crime and punishment stories each week.
The first two series, the second starring Sheehan will be filmed before Christmas around Manchester. Sheehan plays a teenager called Stephen who is convinced that the palliative care nurse Charlotte, played by Sheridan Smith (Gavin and Stacey, Two pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps), who is assigned to look after his mother, has a very different agenda.
Stephen becomes increasingly paranoid about the welfare of his younger brother Dom played by Josh Bolt (Nowhere Boy, The Be All and End All) and is at odds with his father, Peter, played by John Bishop (Skins).But is Stephen stricken by grief or by something else?
The episode was written by Danny Brocklehurst (Exile, The Street) and Jimmy McGovern (The Street, Cracker).
The series starts filming in Manchester next month. It is expected filming will be completed in February 2012
