The newly rebranded RTÉ Mattie series ‘Sergeant Mattie’ has finished filming and is awaiting post-production at EMC and Avatar. The two part series which was directed by Peter Foott (Rubberbandits: Horse Outside, An Créatúr) was filmed for two weeks in September and tells the story of the newly promoted Sergeant Mattie returning to his roots at a country Garda Station
Online post production will be done by Eugene Mc Crystal at EMC and sound post production is being handled by Killian Fitzgerald at Avatar.
Cast for the series includes Pat Shortt (The Guard, Killinaskully), Andrew Bennett (Your Bad Self, The General), Sue Collins (RAW), Maria McDermottroe (Killinaskully, Veronica Guerin) and Gina Moxley(The Other Side Of Sleep, Stardust). Director of Photography was Michael Lavelle. Post-production house is yet to be decided.
The project was funded by RTE and Section 481 and is due for transmission in December.
