Sixteen South Television/BBC Scotland’s co-production ‘Big City Park’ has been nominated in the category of Children’s Programme, for the 2011 BAFTA Scotland Awards.
The 26x14 live-action puppet show aims to get children outside and rediscover the wonder of nature. ‘Big City Park’ was made in Belfast with funding from Northern Ireland Screen, and aired on CBeebies in 2010. It faces competition from ‘All Over the Place’ and ‘Calum Dongle’ in the children’s category.
The pre-school series received an IFTA Award for best Youth/Children’s programme earlier this year and was also recently honoured with a Cine Golden Eagle. The series is produced by Dougie Napier with Colin Williams and Sara Harkins executive producing. Director of the series is Richard Bradley.
