The 9th Berlinale Co-Production Market is inviting producers from all over the world to submit their new, partly financed projects, for which they are seeking co-production partners. The market will take place from February 12-14th 2012.
The European Film Market runs for nine days at the Berlin International Film Festival and attracts crowds of international industry professionals including producers, distributors, buyers and sales agents.
Projects eligible for the market must be feature-length fiction projects for theatrical release, suitable for international co-production and open for co-producers, have a full script available in English, a budget between approximately two and ten million euros, a minimum of 30% of financing must already have been secured and the company must have already completed at least one international co-production.
The deadline for entry is October 27th 2011 and projects should be submitted by email with a fully completed Submissions form, treatment in English (five to eight pages), five page script excerpt, financing plan and director’s previous work sample on DVD (by regular mail/courier).
Over 6,900 participants from over 90 countries attending the European Film Market in 2011 and more than 120 projects from previous years are in production or have been completed. Realised projects from the 2010 co-production market include Israel/France/Germany co-production ‘Central Station’ and UK/France/Germany co-production ‘I Anna’, which stars Charlotte Rampling, Honor Blackman and Gabriel Byrne.
