Element Pictures Distribution have confirmed release dates for Galway Film Fleadh hit ‘Parked’ on October 14th and Tom Hall’s latest film ‘Sensation’ on November 4th 2011.
Ripple World Pictures’ ‘Parked’ tells the story of Fred Daly (Colm Meaney) as he returns to Ireland with nowhere to live but his car. Then dope-smoking 21-year-old Cathal (Colin Morgan) parks beside him, and brightens up his lonely world. Encourage by Cathal, Fred meets attractive music teacher Jules (Milka Ahlroth). Growing closer, these three outsider are set on a course that will change their lives forever.
Produced by Jacqueline Kerrin and Dominic Wright, ‘Parked’ is written by Ciaran Creagh and directed by Darragh Byrne (Mixed Blessings). The film received four IFTA nominations earlier this year and was also jointly awarded the ‘Best First Feature’ Award at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh. ‘Parked’ will be released on October 14th 2011.
Directed by Tom Hall (Wide Open Spaces), ‘Sensation’ sees sad sack farmer Donal Duggan (Domhnall Gleeson), a twenty-six year old who seems less a man than a child growing older, dead to wonder, dulled to life, empty of kindness and aching with lust. When Donal meets Kiwi sex-worker Kim (Luanne Gordon), a soulless contract develops into a thwarted romance and finally a story of hard-won self discovery.
‘Sensation’ is an Irish-Dutch co-production with finance from the Irish Film Board, Rotterdam Film Fund, Screen Scene and Section 481. DOP on the feature is Benito Strangio (Crush Proof) from Rotterdam. ‘Sensation’ will be released on November 4th 2011.
