The RTE/Filmbase short ‘Crossword’ has picked up the Audience Award for Best International Short Film at the prestigious Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia which took place in Tokyo last week.
The festival received over 4,200 entries from all over the world. The win comes on the back of recent screenings at the Palm Springs Film Festival in California, The Gold Coast International Film Festival in New York and the Lifetree Film Festival in Colorado where it won the Lifetree Film Award.
Directed by Vincent Gallagher, written by Hugh Travers and produced by Claire McCaughley of Rubicon Films, ‘Crossword’ tells the story of a lonely woman who takes solace in the daily crossword. On a significant day in her life, she finds that the answers to the clues are all around her. She's just not sure if it's magic, coincidence or something else entirely. The film stars Louise Lewis, Mark O'Shaughnessy and Maire Hastings.
’Crossword’ will next screen on July 30th at 'Eat My Shorts' at Castlepalooza in Charleville Castle, Tullamore.
