Impossible Pictures' newly established Irish arm is to manage post-production on Sky 1’s epic fantasy series ‘Sinbad’. The ‘Sinbad’ post-production team to be located in Dublin through to 2012.
Directed by Andy Wilson (Playing God), ‘Sinbad’ is a 13x60 story of a cursed Sinbad who is running from his home town of Basra, who after surviving a magical storm, finds himself forced to band together with his new ship mates on a quest to rid himself of the curse. Produced by Sophie Gardiner and Tim Haines, it is currently being filmed in Malta and post production will be done in the Impossible Pictures’ Dublin studios.
‘Sinbad’ will be broadcast on Sky1 in 2012 and stars newcomer Elliot Knight alongside Naveen Andrews (Lost) who will play Sinbad’s nemesis. Elliot Knight was recently picked as one of Screen’s Top 30 Stars of Tomorrow which also included Northern Irish Actress Antonia Campbell-Hughes (The Other Side of Sleep). The script is written by Jack Lothian (Shameless) and Neil Biswas (Skins). It has been ordered by Sky 1’s Head of Drama Elaine Pyke.
Impossible Pictures Ireland also worked on ITV British Science Fiction Series ‘Primeval’. Series four and five of the show were shot in Ireland last year and post-production and deliverables on the latest two series were completed in Dublin. ‘Primeval’ is currently in its fifth series which can be viewed on Watch.
