The Irish version of ‘Come Dine With Me’ won the biggest ratings for a launch episode of a home produced programme in TV3 history. The successful format had an average viewing of 478,600 individuals, taking a 33.9% share of Adult television viewers aged 15-44.
The peak minute of the show drew 561,000 viewers, and overall the debut episode drew a cumulative total of 699,000 people when it aired on Monday June 6th at 9pm.
The first episode took place in Cork with animal loving David Roche hosting and Dave Lamb commentating. ‘Come Dine With Me’ will continue to air on TV3 at 9pm on weeknights with future locations including Waterford, Limerick, Dublin and Galway. With a following already established for ‘Come Dine With Me’ through TV3’s broadcasting of the UK version, the Irish version has been much anticipated.
TV3 had a positive ratings weekend with the news series of ‘Celebrity Salon’ also premiering on Monday night, peaking with 386,700 people across its hour-long duration.
TV3 Director of Programming, Ben Frow commented on the TV3 ratings success over the Bank Holiday weekend saying “this is a phenomenal start to summer on TV3, I’m delighted that the viewers enjoyed our new shows as much as they did and can promise them that things only get better!”
