Cameras have started rolling on Screentime ShinAwiL’s production of ‘MasterChef’ which will be broadcast in autumn on RTÉ.
Executive Produced by Larry Bass (The Apprentice, Dragons’ Den) and Series Produced by Lynda McQuaid (The Apprentice, Fame the Musical), Set Designer Fiona Cunningham, Production managed by Sheila Meaney the series will continue shooting until at least August in locations throughout Ireland. Commissioned by RTÉ Lifestyle’s Gráinne McAleer, the show will follow 16 contestants as they compete to win the series which awards a prize of €25,000. Judges on the show include Michelin starred chef Dylan McGrath and Nick Munier (Hell’s Kitchen).
The Irish ‘MasterChef’ will feature an estimated 12 x 52 minute episodes. Editing on the series will be done at Piranha Bar. The ‘Masterchef’ format was originally created by Franc Roddam for the BBC and ‘MasterChef’ is now sold globally by Shine International, Liz Murdock’s company and now has formats internationally in countries such as the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Greece and India.
This is Screentime ShinAwiL’s fourth international format reversion for Irish television audience’s, previously productions include ‘Popstars’, ‘The Apprentice’ and ‘Dragons’ Den’.
