'The Irish of 9/11' Documentary in Pre-Production
10 May 2011 :
Motive Television is currently in pre-production with ‘The Irish of 9/11’, a documentary examining the lives of Irish people who lost friends and family in the infamous New York disaster. The documentary will start to shoot at the end of this month and will feature archive footage and interviews with friends and families of the Irish victims of the attack.

The documentary will be directed by Maurice Sweeney (Cromwell in Ireland) and produced by James D’Alton and Anne McLoughlin (J1 Summer) and will feature interviews with the friends and families of those affected by the September 11th attacks in New York alongside archive footage from the event.

The doc will start to shoot at the end of this month and will be edited over the summer by Emer O'Clery. The director of photography is still TBC, as is the format that ‘The Irish of 9/11’ will shoot on.

The documentary’s budget information is unavailable but it has received €80,000 from the BAI’s Sound and Vision as well as additional funding from TV3. It is set to broadcast as part of TV3’s autumn line-up.
