RTÉ Factual is currently inviting expressions of interest from production companies for the provision of production services to RTÉ in respect of the production of the monthly Report / Production Information series on crime detection and prevention, ‘Crimecall’. Previously produced by Coco Television, the show’s tender is now up and it is incumbent upon RTÉ to seek expressions of interest from other parties at this time.

RTÉ Factual wishes to proceed over the coming weeks with a tender to engage an independent production company to undertake the production and delivery of this series to RTÉ from September 2011.

Any applications will be examined by the RTÉ’s Factual team of Commissioning Editor, Niamh O’Connor; Assistant Commissioning Editor, Sarah Ryder; Assistant Commissioning Editor, Julian Vignoles and Executive Producer of Arts and Cross Media, David McKenna.

A release from RTÉ Factual states that interested production companies must demonstrate a proven track record in production of live studio programmes, production of factual television programming, management of large production teams and significant production resource facilities and management of large production budgets.

Interested parties should submit both a current tax-clearance certificate and a company biography with relevant experience of key personnel, in particular in the production of live studio programming, and any other information that you wish to offer in support of your application. Alternative programme ideas will not be accepted.

Coco Television has produced ‘Crime Call’ for the past seven years and a release on the Coco website states that ”Our dedicated Crimecall Production Team look forward to the upcoming tendering process for Crimecall 8.” Company representatives have declined to comment further about the tendering process.

The closing date for receipt of expressions of interest confirming company’s wish to be considered by RTÉ Factual for inclusion on the shortlist to tender is Thursday, 14th April, 2011 at 12noon.
