Toronto Critic’s Deem ‘Hunger’ Best First Feature

Steve McQueen’s multi award-winning film, ‘Hunger’ walked away from the 2009 Toronto Critics' Association's Awards Ceremony bearing the title Best First Feature and the shared accolade of Best Film with Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Inglourious Basterds’.
‘Hunger’, which stars IFTA winner Michael Fassbender (Fish Tank) as IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands, was premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival and has enjoyed festival and critical success since with honors such as a six Irish Film & Television Awards, a BAFTA win and nomination, several victories and nominations at the BIFAs and the 2008 Cannes Film Festival Golden Camera award amongst others.
