TG4 yesterday released their autumn schedule which is set to include the new contemporary drama series from director Robert Quinn, ‘Rásaí na Gaillimhe’, set during the Galway Race Week and starring Don Wycherley, Tom Ó Súilleabháin, Charlotte Bradley and Owen Roe.
TG4 will also broadcast Abú Media’s new fast-paced documentary series that chronicles the significant Irish involvement in US politics over the past 150 years in ‘Bóthar go dtí and White House’.
Also in the lineup, the TV drama series ‘Ros na Rún’ will continue into its 14th season. For the musically inclined there are two noteworthy programmes; ‘Cérbh É?’, which will explore the musical traditions of various figures from generations past; and ‘Ceol na nOileán’ a series that examines Ireland’s musical riches.
‘Teorainn’ is a programme that will tell the tale of how the Boundary Commissioners went about drawing the significant line on Irish maps almost ninety years ago, whereas ‘Stíl na Réalt’, TG4’s fashion series, will challenge contestants to emulate a well known fashion icon’s look on a shoestring budget.
Other new shows include ‘An Jig Gig’ which chronicles the search for the best traditional Irish dancers in the country and ‘Cowboys’, a travel documentary series that will profile seven legendary Wild West Characters (most of Irish origin). TG4 will also screen the latest US hit vampire drama series ‘True Blood’ starring Oscar winning actress Anna Paquin which is exclusive to TG4.
Returning shows include ‘Cogar’, ‘Cúla4’, ‘GAA Beo’, Nuacht TG4’, ‘Comhrá’ and ‘Mí na Meala’ a new season of the series that takes married couples of all ages back to the days when they first said “I do”.
