HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’ pilot which is due to commence production at The Paint Hall, Belfast, in October has added more names to its growing cast list.
Danish actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (New Amsterdam, Black Hawk Down) is the latest to join the previously reported cast including Sean Bean (Eddard Stark), Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon), Kit Harrington (Snow) , Jennifer Ehle (Catelyn Stark), Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen).
Daenerys, an exiled teenage princess will be played by ‘The Tudors’ Tamzin Merchant. Also new to the cast list is Richard Madden (Hope Springs) who will play Stark’s eldest son Robb; Ser Jorah Mormont, a disgraced knight will be played by Iain Glen (Into the Storm); Sophie Turner will play Sansa, Stark’s eldest daughter. Theon, Stark’s young ward will be played by Alfie Allen (The Other Boleyn Girl) whilst Arva, Stark’s young tomboy daughter will be played by Maisie Williams.
In the adaptation of the George R.R. Martin fantasy-book series, Coster-Waldau will play Jaime Lannister, one of the king's guards.
HBO still has a few more roles to fill in the large ensemble cast of ‘Thrones’,
Directed by Tom Mc Carthy, David Benioff and D.B Weiss, who wrote the screenplay are executive producing, whilst Mark Huffam, from Northern Ireland based Generator Entertainment, will be producing with Frank Doelger (Rome).
