Natalie Portman (The Other Boleyn Girl, Star Wars) is confirmed to star with Danny McBride and James Franco in 'Your Highness', the Universal Pictures comedy that begins production in Northern Ireland in July.
The film has the backing of the Northern Ireland Screen Fund supported by Invest NI. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express) is directing.
Scott Stuber is producing through his Universal-based company Stuber Productions with shooting to commence on July 20 in Belfast. Mark Huffam from NI production company Generator Entertainment will executive produce with Stuber’s Jon Mone and Danny McBride.
'Your Highness' will shoot in Northern Ireland’s studio facility The Paint Hall in Belfast’s Titanic Quarter and on location in Northern Ireland. It is expected that the filming of Your Highness could infuse as much as £10 million into the economy, employing hundreds of cast, crew and extras from Northern Ireland.
Danny McBride, who wrote the script with Ben Best, plays a lazy, arrogant prince who, with his brother (James Franco), must complete a quest to save the kingdom and his brother’s fiancee. Portman will play a warrior princess with whom the lazy prince falls in love.
