Monday night’s ‘Prime Time Investigates – On The Edge’ - which examined the world of the Travelling community - was watched by an audience of 773,000 people with an audience share of 48%, earning the award winning doc series its highest ratings since it began in 2003.
Barry O’Kelly reported as Travellers revealed their struggle against discrimination, their unique traditions and the actions of a small, but violent minority involved in bare-knuckle fighting and feuding.
Last week’s programme, ‘Slave Labour Ireland’ – an undercover expose on the widespread exploitation of migrant workers in Ireland – also drew high numbers with 625,000 viewers and an audience share of 40%.
The final programme in the current series is ‘Prime Time Investigates – Service With A Snarl’ which will be shown next Monday, 15th December at 9.30pm on RTÉ One. In an investigation into consumer rage at services which don’t measure up to expectations, the programme examines the frustrations felt when customer complaints fall on deaf ears. Conor Pope reports.
