Mind the Gap Films have just completed filming ‘It’s My Show Series Two’, ‘Hands on Ireland’, ‘Beethoven Bootcamp’ all to air on RTÉ, and have been awarded funding from the BCI for two television programmes: ‘Music Changes Lives’ (RTÉ), and ‘Life in a Day’ (TV3).
‘It’s My Show’ hosted by Sinéad Kennedy will air over the Christmas period and gives 10 – 13 year olds the chance to be a presenter for a day.
‘Hands On’, Ireland’s TV programme for the deaf community presented in Irish Sign Language is back on RTÉ One every Sunday morning from 10.40am. The new series continues to be produced by a mixed deaf and hearing team and will see the return of award winning deaf director, Louis Neethling. The show will cover such topics as deaf access to the emergency services, adoption, fostering & IVF treatment available to deaf people, and will be celebrating the last 20 years of deaf TV in Ireland.
John O’Conor’s ‘Beethoven Bootcamp’ will be airing as part of the Arts Lives series for RTÉ early in the New Year. The documentary was shot mostly in Positano, Italy, and centers on gifted pianists from around the world who come to the coastal resort every year to study Beethoven’s works, under John O’Conor’s guidance.
The company was also recently awarded funding from the BCI for two television programmes and one radio programme. ‘Music Changes Lives’ is currently being filmed and will air on RTÉ, and ‘Life in a Day’ will commence filming in April/May 09 for TV3. The BCI funded radio programme for RTE Radio One will air over Easter 09.
