The team behind ‘Sofia’s Diary’ and ‘Aisling’s Diary’, CR Entertainment, have announced a deal with Penguin Publishing for a book based on the popular RTÉ series ‘Aisling’s Diary’.
The book will journal Aisling’s own trials and tribulations…never mind the major upheaval of moving to a new country and leaving behind her best friends, her beloved dance class and the her love interest Phil Donnelly. Published in paperback by Penguin Ireland on 6 November, the book will retail at €7.99.
According to Michale McLoughlin of Penguin: “The Aisling’s Diary book is pacey, intimate, honest and an entertainingly bumpy adventure through the life of a teenage girl which we hope will work well for both fans of the series and newcomers to Aisling’s Adventures. We’re very proud to be working closely with CR Entertainment and RTÉ in relation to its launch.”
The series, was broadcast on RTÉ from September 1st in 3-minute daily bite size instalments, and in a weekly TV omnibus broadcast on Saturday mornings.
According to series producer Triona Campbell, “Aisling’s Diary is a classic teenage fish-out-of-water story and of course there's some romance along the way! We already know from our experience with Sofia’s Diary that this format, or snack TV, is extremely popular with young audiences, who are proving much more difficult to reach through traditional media alone. We believe an entertainment product can no longer be created for only one platform. It has to be created and distributed across a landscape of media that includes books and print and that is why we are delighted to be working with Penguin on this property.”
