IFTA winning Irish actor Ciarán Hinds (There Will Be Blood, Munich) will star alongside Aidan Quinn (32A, Michael Collins) and Iben Hjejle (High Fidelity) in Conor McPherson’s latest feature film ‘The Eclipse’.
Supernatural drama ‘The Eclipse’ is written and directed by McPherson, whose last foray into filmmaking was the 2003 comedy ‘The Actors’, which starred Michael Caine. The award winning playwright also penned the 1997 screen hit ‘I Went Down’ and his directorial debut ‘Saltwater’ in 2000.
‘The Eclipse’ begins five weeks of principal photography in Cork this week with an imposing lineup of top Irish crew behind the scenes including; Oscar nominated costume designer Consolata Boyle (The Queen); IFTA winning production designer Mark Geraghty (Get Rich or Die Tryin’) and cinematographer Ivan McCullough (The Sound of People) will shoot on the latest Red One camera. Emer Reynolds (Shameless, Saltwater, I Went Down) will cut the film at Windmill Lane.
‘The Eclipse’ is produced by Robert Walpole at Treasure Entertainment with funding from the IFB, RTÉ and BCI.
