A host of Irish films, including Marian Quinn’s ‘32A’ and Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘Garage’, are set to screen at the Seattle International Film Festival, which takes place from 22nd May – 15th June 2008.
‘32A’, which was named Best First Feature at last year’s Galway Film Fleadh, is a coming of age flic which tells the story of a young girl fast approaching her fourteenth birthday while Lenny Abrahamson’s IFTA-winning feature ‘Garage’ follows local misfit Josie’s search for intimacy over the course of one summer.
Irish shorts to screen in Seattle include Sonya Gildea’s ‘Bua’ produced by Kirsten Sheridan, Steph Green’s IFTA-winning short ‘New Boy’, Jane Lee’s animated short ‘Revelations’ and Ken Wardrop’s shorts ‘Scoring’ and ‘Tongue Tied’
As previously announced, Stuart Townsend’s directorial debut ‘Battle in Seattle, which follows the events that rocked the world when Seattle played host to the World Trade Organization in 1999, is the festival’s opening night film.
