Dublin-based Spanish language institute Instituto Cervantes will celebrate a Ten Years of Spanish Cinema in a series of weekly film screenings at their headquarters in Lincoln House, Dublin 2.
This initiative aims to promote Spanish film culture, offering the audience an opportunity to engage with the breadth and diversity of Spanish cinema.
The series examines the work of established directors including Carlos Saura and Julio Medem, as well as new talents such as Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, through a wide range of film genres from social realism to thriller, drama, and comedy.
The autumn programme will kick off this Thursday with Saura’s ‘The Seventh Day’ (El séptimo día) on 20th September at 18:30pm.
The screenings are free and will take place every Thursday for five weeks at the Instituto Cervantes, Lincoln House, Dublin 2.
The line-up is as follows:
20th Sep: ‘El séptimo día’ (The Seventh Day) - Carlos Saura
27th Sep: ‘Los amantes del círculo polar’ (Lovers of the Artic Circle) -Julio Medem
4th Oct: ‘En la ciudad sin límites’ (The City of No Limits) - Antonio Hernández
18th Oct: ‘Intacto’/Intact -Juan Carlos Fresnadillo
25th Oct: ‘El otro lado de la cama’/The Other Side of the Bed -Emilio Martínez Lázaro
