The Galway Film Centre is running a weekend-long course in Makeup for TV on Sat 30th June-Sun1st July. The tutor, Roisin Derrane, has worked in television, advertising and fashion. She regularly does makeup for ‘Off the Rails’ and ‘Ireland Am’ and has worked on feature films including ‘King Arthur’ and ‘Intermission’.
This weekend course will look at how to apply beauty makeup for television, including eye shadow techniques and will cover how to apply male/female makeup and keep the continuity throughout the day. It will also cover how to give different looks and deal with skin coloration.
Participant numbers on these classes are kept small so that everyone can gain as much as possible from the course. These classes are open to men and women interested in learning more about makeup for the film and television industry. The class is limited to a maximum of four participants.It is recommended that participants bring a model to practice their makeup on.
Course cost: € 180 unwaged/€ 220 waged plus membership.
Booking a place on a course requires a 50% non-refundable deposit and a valid membership (€45 unwaged, €55 waged) to the Galway Film Centre. Tutors and dates may be subject to change.
