The Arts Council is seeking to retain advisers across a range of art form disciplines, including film. The advisers will work as members of art form teams and will be required to provide the Arts Council with expert, topical and accurate intelligence about the arts in Ireland.
Art form advisers are responsible for identifying areas of strategic need and will have a role in devising and implementing policy within their art form area. They will advise on artistic promise and achievement in the arts and may be required to provide expert opinion on behalf of the Arts Council in external contexts or forums.
The Arts Council wishes to retain art form advisers in each of the following seven areas:
- Dance
- Film
- Literature (in English)
- Literature (in Irish)
- Opera
- Theatre
- Traditional Arts
The above roles are offered on a part time consulting basis for a term of up to three years.
Those wishing to tender should have:
- at least five years’ experience working at a senior level within their art form area in Ireland or overseas;
- a third level, and ideally a post-graduate, qualification in a relevant discipline;
- a developed knowledge and understanding of the aesthetic and artistic environments within their art form area, nationally and internationally;
- a developed knowledge and understanding of the public policy, and commercial operating conditions within their art form area, nationally and internationally;
- expert consulting skills including advanced analytical, communications (written and verbal), and influencing skills;
- demonstrable consultancy management and time management skills;
- personal and professional qualities of integrity, discipline and confidence.
