Monster Animation’s animated short film ‘Not There Yet’ has won the International Prize at the ALCINE Festival in Madrid Spain.
This is the inaugural year for the festival’s International Prize award which was decided by the festival going audience. Now in its 36th year, the Alcalá de Henares / Comunidad de Madrid film festival the oldest events of the Spanish film industry and among the most important cultural events in Alcalá
‘Not There Yet’ is based on the Irish Transport System and the frustration it can cause. Producer Gerard O'Rourke traveled to Madrid to collect the prize on behalf of director Jason Tammemagi (who is currently in the middle of directing his new pre-school series ‘Fluffy Gardens’ funded by the BCI, RTE, Irish Film Board and the Cartoon Network).
‘Not There Yet’ was made as part of Irish Flash, an Irish Film Board scheme and was nominated in the Best Animation category at the 2005 IFTA’s. The film has previously screened at the Annecy and Clermont-Ferrand festivals.
